Why I choose him as my idol:
The reason is because he inspired me to be more hardworking. He has been a fraud in his business, but that didn’t stop him to continue his business and become what he is now. He also inspired me to always love and care about my family. Like when he gave half of his first salary to his mother and sisters. I’ve never seen someone who is so dedicated, strong-willed and humble like Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Albukhary.

“My mother told me, that we own nothing until we give it with our heart fully, with hope that it will make other’s life better.“

Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza has been my role-model because she inspired me in so many ways. She is an entrepreneur who never knew the meaning of failure and always try to achieve her dreams. She is also known as a successful business woman when she launched her own brand of beauty products and cosmetics called SimplySiti. She was personally involved with the promotions such as starring in the commercials and even released a theme song for her products called, Rahsiaku Kini Milikmu. She really inspired me to do something else than what we already have. She is just not only a professional singer but also a great entrepreneur at the beginning of 30’s. As long as we put our efforts into it, maybe we can be as successful as she is now. Her persistence makes me think that we should be passionate on what we are doing and not easily give up.

As a Malaysian celebrity and business woman, Dato Siti has showed that she has the confidence to communicate with her fans and publics. This may come from her own experience when she was younger where she would help her mother every morning to sell kuih at her neighborhood. She has reminded me to be a hard working person and I should have the confidence in myself. Dato’ Siti is also known as a generous person because throughout her career she has been involved with a lot of charity events and even launched her own funds. She inspired me to be a generous person so that I can help our community and these will make me feel better about myself.

At a young age, she was thrust into the world of music with her talented voice and formed a group called the Teh Tarik Crew (TTC). The group then separated and she began her solo career by releasing her debut album What You Waiting For in 2010. The title track and hit single from the album went viral locally, featuring LA-based artist Colby O’Donis. The music video was shot in LA and it received over a million views on Youtube. She toured Sri Lanka and India to promote the hit.

Two years later, she released another album called Takeover, with a hit single of the same title track, featuring a famous international rapper Flo Rida. This was when she began her American tour on the road, starting from California to Las Vegas, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, Miami and New York which was filmed concurrently as a reality TV show (Takeover) that was aired in Astro Ria. She was also given the opportunity to co-host an episode of The MTV Iggy Show as a guest on the street of Times Square.

After a few years of being an international and local music icon, her career suddenly took a drastic change. In the late 2013, she performed Hajj (an Islamic pilgrimage in Makkah) with her husband and at that point, she knew she wanted to end her musical career. After coming back from the sacred land of Makkah, she decided to change her image to a more modest one. She abandoned music and focused on the right path in Islam, by going to Islamic classes and wearing the hijab.

As she began to unravel the world of Islam in depth, she was determined to finally put her fame to good use by having her own TV show called The Mizz Nina Show. It showcased diverse Islamic issues such as lifestyle, current affairs and real life situations. The show inspired to be like The Ellen Degeneres Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show where not only it entertains audiences but to also help the less fortunate. It featured some influential Malaysian icons from different industries such as the entrepreneur, Vivy Yusof, the banker and also her father, Tan Sri Azman, singer-songwriter, Faisal Tahir and Islamic preacher, Sheikh Hussein Yee.

Besides that, she launched a modest fashion line known as Madeena that is slightly different than Mizz Demeanor. It was a transition between street wear to modest fashion with ready to wear designs.

Mizz Nina is without a doubt my role model as she has the courage and drive to put herself out there in the world and portray her best image. I was inspired by her gradual shift from performing in night clubs to having her own TV show that unveils the beauty of Islam in such a simple yet interesting way. I aspire to be as humble and successful as her and to have the same motivation she has to spread Islam in such an elegant way.

“Even though I was born a Muslim, today I feel like I’m a revert. Wearing the hijab and taking on my responsibilities as a Muslim woman makes me feel free, protected and safe. It makes me feel respected and at peace with myself.”

NOOR NEELOFA MOHD NOR better known as Neelofa or Lofa by her stage name is the person that I adore and look up to. Neelofa was born on February 10 , 1989. Neelofa is an actress , a television presenter/host , a model , business woman and a social media influencer.

Here’s a little bit behind of her stories. Neelofa is someone who is ‘Beauty with Brain” why am I saying that ? because as people know that she is very excellent in her studies . She scored very well in Malaysian Education Certificate Examination. She got 10A’s which is very incredible. Plus, she was a winner of Dewi Remaja for 2010/2011 before she started to wear hijab. From, a business-oriented family & worn hijab a move that inspired herself to launch a business call “Naelofar Hijab”. She started with shawls as her first product & then she started selling online shawls and at bazaars. They sell it to other countries such as Brunei and Singapore . Not just that, her business has expanded and along Naelofar Hijab , she also created two other labels ; Naelofar Abaya featuring modern and stylish abaya and Lofalens a brand offering fashionable contact lens. Also , she has been collaborate with Swarovski on producing her limited edition of scarfs called “Maya”. Anyway for your information , she is the founder and director of NH Prima International Sdn Bhd . Besides that , Naelofar Hijab will be collaborating with Air Asia to produce a hijab for the female pilots and their ground staff as well.  With 5M followers in Instagram it shown that Neelofa is one of the most famous actresses in Malaysia. Besides that, she is one of the among 300 honourees of the Forbes 30 under 30 Asia 2017 which is a huge thing for young entrepreneurs & to be proud of.

WHY AM I ADORING HER SO MUCH?? OR WHY IS SHE INSPIRED ME??
Firstly, the way she styled herself is the boom and its something that I think can be follow by her followers. With profits/incomes that she have it shown that she runs her business very well which can lead young women out there to do the same thing. She influence people on how to wear or style the hijab .
Secondly , what I loved about her is that , she is someone who is very professional. Why am I saying that? It is because she is of the artist that has been always haunted by paparazzi when it comes to gossip or issues such as her being in a relationship with someone which is not a true thing but still she managed to put is a side and focusing on her business and careers. That’s can be something to benchmark to artists out there.

Last but not least, she inspires people that we should learn to not be hard in terms of selling products in running a business instead we should give it soul and people will come to it . Which is very true. Plus her bound with her family is so incredible. I meant she has a very good family on supporting her careers and always proud on how successful she is . I loved the way that they encourage each other by doing something (for sure a good thing) and they don’t really bother on what’s people says about them. Which clearly touched my heart. Here are some of the proof below.

5) P. Ramlee

Hey there! As you can see from above, I will be talking about a Malaysian icon that I admire. Looking at the picture provided above, guess you already know who I would be talking about right? Let me elaborate on who is this man right here. His full name is Tan Sri Datuk Amar Teuku Zakaria bin Teuku Nyak Putih or more known as P. Ramlee. He was born on 22nd March 1929. However, he passed away at the age of 44 on 29th May 1973. He was an actor, a singer, a songwriter, a composer and last not least a producer. He started off acting in Singapore back in 1948 and then later moving to Malaysia in 1964. He got married 3 times to 3 beautiful ladies named Junaidah Daeng Harris (1950-1955),  Noorizan Mohd Noor (1955-1961) and last but not least, Salmah binti Ismail (1961-1973) or better known as Saloma. He also has children however only one that is his own who’s name is Nasir from his first wife, and several stepchildren. However, Nasir has passed away in 2008.

Source: http://izzatifarhanimohdnoor5f.blogspot.my/p/blog-page_6976.html

On the 29th of May 1973, P. Ramlee passed away due to a heart attack. 13 years after his death (1986), as a symbol of appreciation towards him, the ‘Pustaka Peringatan P. Ramlee’ was built in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. However, a second memorial home was made for him, ‘Rumah P. Ramlee’ was open to the public in 1992 featuring some of his belongings and his reestablished village house in Penang on Jalan P. Ramlee. Roads were named after the late P. Ramlee for example the road in Kuala Lumpur originally named ‘ Jalan Parry’ was changed to Jalan P. Ramlee. The late P. Ramlee was also awarded with the honorific title ‘Tan Sri’ and later in 2009 he was  awarded with the title ‘Datuk Amar’ by the Sarawak State Government even after his death.

Unfortunately for P. Ramlee, he left this world being bankrupt and was ignored by the public which also includes his colleagues. How this is known is because a documentary of 90 minutes was aired on History Channel Asia. This documentary had shocked the nation also causing everyone feeling guilty due to his untimely death. The entertainment industry thought that P. Ramlee’s songs and films were of less value compared to before. Despite his previous success in the entertainment career, P. Ramlee passed away with a tragic bankruptcy and was shunned by the public including his colleagues. He went bankrupt due to the lack of interest the entertainment industry had towards him though that did not stop him from giving to others.  Why I say this is because P. Ramlee gave the last of his money to a visitor of his house as he felt that the person needed the money more than he needs it.

In my point of view, P. Ramlee was an amazing actor and was a perfect influencer to many. He was handling numerous jobs at a time yet he managed to handle it all at once. I felt that it was a waste of talent for not taking the late P. Ramlee for anymore acting shows or singing gigs. I enjoyed watching the movies he acted in and I wished that there were several more. My personal favourite of a movie he acted in would have to be ‘Tiga Madu’. The show is about him getting married 3 times to 3 different women HOWEVER none of them knew that he has been married. He covers up going to his own marriage by saying that he has a wedding to attend to which I found it sort of hilarious in a way. Having to lie to your wife about attending a wedding when really it is your very own. I consider him as my role model as he is passionate about his job and he could do several jobs. He was a very talented icon and I find it sad that he was rejected by the industry before he passed on. If he was still alive I would love to have a chat with him and ask him several questions on how to become such a natural actor. He will have to be one of the greatest legacies in Malaysia.

6) Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin

Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin SM Amin was born on 27th of January 1955 in Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan. He was a father to one, a father to five, and a notorious entrepreneur\ businessman who has changed Malaysia’s economy tremendously. He was the founder, chairman and the chief executive of the Naza group of Malaysia. The group was formed in 1974 with 14 different business divisions in total which included motor trading, bikes, manufacturing, transport services, engineering, machine tools/parts, plantation, cigarette distribution, credit & leasing, water crafts, properties, hotel operation, and insurance agency. However, the group that was formed by Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin was more prominent for its automobile division. The mega group currently possesses the Malaysian Franchise for South Korea’s Kia, and the French Brand ‘Peugeot’. Naza Group also holds the import permits for Mazda and Giant Automaker,”Mercedes Benz”.

Nasimuddin has always had a strong passion for cars and the automobile industry. As a 19 year old, he had a total of RM80,000 in his bank account which he had collected from his earnings by working with his father who was a contractor. He started his journey into the automobile business with a grant of Approved Permits (which is a permit given to bumiputras) from the Government to import foreign cars. In just about a year, Tan Sri Sm Nasimuddin made his first million ringgits.

After getting his business up and running, he travelled to Japan where he spent three months choosing and purchasing his first 20 units of pre-owned Japanese cars. He managed to off-load all 20 units within 3 months. Nasimuddin’s first shop lot was built in Taman Maluri which was selling around 10-15 units a month on average. Not long after, he opened a branch in Kampung Baru in the capital of Malaysia doing retail and selling, on average, 40 to 60 cars every month.

As an aspiring entrepreneur, Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin faced a bunch of obstacles which included financing, and how to convince customers to purchase pre-owned vehicles especially when the community was not keen on imported automobiles back then. Despite having those tricky problems, his burning passion and strong faith in his business pushed him to great success that has really been proven by the results of his company. A quote he left us to take in that I truly believe in was “to succeed you must love what you do and you must know what you are doing”.

Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin has received multiple honorable awards and recognition for his magnificent success in his business career. As a symbol of gratitude for his incomparable services and contributions to the people and economy of Malaysia, he received the federal award Panglima Setia Mahkota (P.S.M) from His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong, which holds the highly respectable title Tan Sri. Nasimuddin was also gifted one of South Korea’s most prestigious awards from the President of South Korea, the Presidential Award Industrial Service Medal, for his contribution to the automotive field. Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin became the first ever Malaysian to receive that particular award. Somewhere in the early 2000’s, News Straits Times named him “Motoring Man of The Year”.

All in all, I consider Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin SM Amin as one of my main idols because of his determination and for his exceptional entrepreneurship values. Besides that, he was also a very down to earth man despite being one of the richest individual in Malaysia, which I tremendously respect.  I aspire to be as victorious as the man himself and leave an incredible positive mark to our society as well as creating more job opportunity for the community in my future businesses

OCCUPATION: Actor, director
NOTABLE WORKS: 10 Things I Hate About You, Brokeback Mountain, The Dark Knight

People come and go, but some leave a mark on you before they go. Heathcliff Andrew Ledger, an actor of the highest caliber, was one such person. It seemed that even from a young age, he was destined for show business as he left home at the tender age of 17 to find a place on the silver screen. What followed was a meteoric rise to fame and a tragic end for this gifted young man.

FILMOGRAPHY
Heath Ledger was made famous in Hollywood by the now classic teen romance movie 10 Things I Hate About You. Where he starred opposite Julia Stiles as a young rebel who stole the the hearts of girls everywhere with his easy charm and inviting smile. From there he moved on to bigger and bolder things such as Monsters Ball and Mel Gibson’s Patriot. Another of his most celebrated works would he Brokeback Mountain. A bold movie chronicling the doomed romance of two young gay lovers in the deeply religious south of America. However his most famous work is without question The Dark Knight directed by Christopher Nolan. His career as an actor is defined by the various contrasting roles he took upon, stating “I feel like I am wasting my time if I repeat myself”. He rarely played a character similar to another of his characters. Which is a rare thing in today’s Hollywood. A true method actor, Ledger was often praised by his cast mates for his near zealous devotion to his roles. Yet he despised the notion of perfection and often told that he preferred things to look real and perfection was not real.

HOW HE GAINED MY RECOGNITION

The joker during the lock up scene in The Dark Knight Source: https://juninoa.wordpress.com/2015/04/01/the-brilliant-mind-of-heath-ledger-in-the-dark-knight/

It was The Dark Knight that opened my eyes to the artistry of Heath Ledger. His now iconic performance as the joker was of such raw grit and raging emotion that I could not help but be enthralled by his every action.
It takes a great villain to make you root for him instead of the hero. But then when that hero is Batman, it takes something Herculean to sway the masses in the favour of a deranged psychotic madman. Yet Heath Ledger pulled that off. He was ridiculed and lambasted when he first took the job as he was formally known as just a Hollywood pretty boy who sold tickets only using his good looks. Of course he silenced his critics once they saw him in his make-up (which he did himself). The once perfectly sculpted face hideously dabbled in white corpse like makeup whilst his wavy blonde hair was transformed into a sickly green stringy mess. It was truly daunting to see a man transformed so much with just some dabs of paint. I was very young child when the dark knight first came out, yet even at that young age I knew that what I was watching was special. I was watching master at work. From the eerie calm drawl he spoke in to the way to the micro expressions that clouded his face. It was a truly bone chilling look into what a true nihilist would look like.

DEATH
Shortly after filming stopped on The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger was found dead in his home from a prescription drug overdose. It is widely believed that he died due to the stresses bought open by how much he got into the role of the mad clown and his journal revealed how disturbed he was by the character.
He posthumously won an academy award for his role as the joker .the first time in history that a comic book adaptation had gotten such an accolade.
His acting career was relatively short. Yet he will go down with the likes of buster Keaton and Steve McQueen due to the perfection he acted with. A man of hidden depths and undeniable talent, his untimely death took away one of the most promising actors of this generation.
